Are you kidding me? We posted about Let’s Get Into It, the LGBTQ+ couple's conversation cards, just to our waitlist, and they sold out in less than 24 hours! We can't believe that, honestly!
If you're new here and you haven't seen it, the LGBTQ+ couples conversation cards are the only cards to ever exist in the world, literally in the world, made specifically to bring queer couples closer and help them practice vulnerability. I'll (Keely) never forget when we came up with the idea – Dani and I were in the kitchen. I think I was making dinner or lunch or something, and I said, “We should create some kind of conversation starter cards.” And she was like, “What do you mean?” And I replied, “You know how all these other card games don't really speak specifically to the queer community?” She immediately understood.
There are so many things about being queer that just don’t come up in normal conversation. Through working with 1000s of LGBTQ+ adults, the number one problem that they deal with is that they don't know how to communicate, they don't know how to hold space for or how to deal with a partner. We’ve spent so long trying to figure out how we can help them practice that communication and vulnerability so they can connect better, love deeper, and show up more authentically in their relationship.
We wanted to create a tool to truly enhance that and make everything so much better. So I'll never forget being in the kitchen. I said this idea, and, the thing is, I could say ideas and they could just sit forever. But Dani brings things to life. It's so cool to be able to create something and have this idea that Dani puts it into real life. And we create this all specifically for queer people.
To tell you a little more about Let’s Get Into It: LGBTQ+ Couples’ Edition – the deck has three levels that are designed to create a safe environment and give you questions that you may not have thought to ask. Here's the thing about being queer: when you grow up in an environment where you weren't accepted, where you put on a mask and you had to hide yourself, it can be hard to be vulnerable. Vulnerability leads to healthier relationships and connection with yourself. Most people are used to Uhaul culture, so the reason for these different levels of vulnerability is for you to decide when you feel comfortable enough to get to a deeper level of vulnerability instead of all jumping in too quickly.
These different levels will help you move along in a safer way. You don't feel like you have to jump ahead to the deepest questions on a first date, and the cool thing is, whether you've been dating for six days, six months, or six years, there’s always something new to discover. I mean, we're always learning about each other, learning perspective, learning how to communicate better, learning about each other's experiences. There's something about these cards that becomes an investment in your relationship.
You are investing your time and energetically putting yourself in a position to hold space for your partner and say, “I'm gonna really hear you. I really want to hear you.” It could be hard to have those vulnerable conversations out at a restaurant out in public, but what you can do with these cards is go, “Hey, I want to have a date. I want to set aside this time to dive in and get to know each other a little bit deeper and make an environment that feels supportive and safe to you.” That's the coolest thing, and it can just be done in so many different ways.
Many of you know that Dani and I were traveling around Europe these past few weeks. All the different places, we took these cards and played at coffee shops, parks, and so many other places, and we just jumped right in. I even thought of going on a road trip. That'd be really cool. You can really use them anywhere.
These cards are just so impactful, and they're so powerful, not only for you to do with a partner or partners, but to do with a group of friends, too. I think they can expand beyond just a relationship, romantic relationship, and extend to new queer friends, too.
One of the things that has always been very important to us is creating community. We really wanted to create a space where, not only would you purchase a pack for yourself, but you get to write a little anonymous affirmation note to someone else who's also going to purchase the cards. So you'll submit it online, there's a little QR code in the pack, we'll send it out in the next pack as people order, so you're literally impacting people with your words.
And if you’re ready to dive deeper, either as a couple or just on your own, our membership, the Queer Happiness Collective, is for people who are ready to become the best version of themselves and create these healthy relationships. We recently added the ability to join with another partner, and you can add somebody else to your account with a discount so you'll be able to grow together. We give you the tools and support to grow with somebody that you care about, and the best part is the free trial so you can give it a try and see how you like it.
I know people love watching our live q&a and expert workshops. We gathered amazing experts from all over the world, queer experts, that focus on sexual communication, inner child healing, yoga, and all the things you need to heal and grow and become the partner you’ve always wanted to be.
Watch them on your own or watch them with a partner, just dive in and invest in yourself and in your relationships. It's a community that grows with you, regardless of your relationship status, so I'm really excited about these cards as a stepping stone to greater healing for the queer community. I hope that you get yours now and join the membership on ComingOutHappy.com!
We created two shipping options because I know it can get expensive, so if you live outside of the US, there is an option for you to download a digital version, so it's accessible to anyone in the world. Whether you're in a relationship or not, you're gonna need them eventually, so grab them today!
With Love,
Dani & Keely
